About the Role

As a Teacher Under Supervision in Locksmithing, you will not be expected to have prior teaching experience. This role is specifically designed for skilled and experienced locksmiths who are passionate about sharing their trade knowledge and supporting the next generation of professionals. You will be guided and mentored by a qualified educator while you work toward obtaining your Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent). This structured pathway allows you to gain teaching competencies on the job, while delivering practical, hands-on training in a supportive and collaborative learning environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and assess vocational education programs in locksmithing
  • Create inclusive and engaging learning environments
  • Support students through pastoral care and academic guidance
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with VET and AQTF standards
  • Collaborate with industry and stakeholders to ensure curriculum relevance
  • Participate in professional development to maintain vocational and educational currency


Skills and Experience Required

  • Relevant vocational qualifications in locksmithing
  • Demonstrated industry experience in locksmithing
  • Open to obtain a recognised training and assessment credential (e.g., TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to inclusive education and student wellbeing
  • Understanding of compliance requirements including ASQA and AQTF standards
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and contribute to quality assurance processes


Additional Requirements

Successful candidate will be required to provide:

  • A valid Victorian Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • A National Police Check
